日照因“日出初光先照”而得名，总人口309万。日照是龙山文化的重要发祥地之一，是一座生态优美的宜居之城。这里冬无严寒、夏无酷暑，山海相依、风光秀美，是“北方绿茶之乡”，是世界三大海岸绿茶城市之一。日照是“一带一路”新亚欧大陆桥经济走廊主要节点城市，是中国大陆沿海第六大港口。

Rizhao gets its name for “it’s the first city to get sunshine”. The total population of Rizhao is 3.09 million. It is one of the important birthplaces of Longshan Culture and a livable city with beautiful ecological environment. There is no freezing winter or sultry summer. The sea and mountains here are interdependent, composing beautiful sceneries. Rizhao is the “Hometown of Green Tea in Northern China” and one of the three coastal green tea cities in the world. It is a major node city of the Belt and Road New Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Corridor, owing the sixth largest coastal port in Chinese mainland.
