Boxing Ports Throughput Surpasses One Million Tons

Recently, the BoXing Port Industrial Integration High-Quality Development Promotion Conference, themed "Boning All Rivers, BoXing Far-reaching," was grandly held in BoXing County. The event aimed to celebrate the port's throughput exceeding 1 million tons for the first time, comprehensively showcase the fruitful achievements of the Xiaoqing River's reactivation and BoXing Port's operational development, promote the port's advantages and investment opportunities, and discuss the high-quality development of port-industry-city integration.

The Xiaoqing River, serving as a "golden waterway" that connects provincial capitals, traverses central Shandong, and facilitates river-sea intermodal transport, has significantly boosted the clustering of industries along its banks and high-level opening-up since its full resumption of navigation in 2023. As one of the four ports along the river, Boxing Port boasts a superior geographical location, with access to the Bohai Bay to the north, connections to Qingdao Port and Yantai Port to the east, reach to the Yellow River basin to the west, and access to central Shandong's hinterland to the south. In recent years, with strong support from the Provincial Department of Transportation, Shandong Ocean Group, Shandong Water Development Group, and partner enterprises, the port has established five river-sea intermodal shipping routes, including those to Huanghua, Caofeidian, and Weifang, creating a seamless connection channel from overseas to coastal ports, inland ports, and industrial parks. To date, Boxing Port has completed eight thousand-ton-class berths and has handled over 900 waterway shipments this year, achieving a cargo throughput of 1.206 million tons, making it a powerful engine driving regional economic development.
