Zichuan: International Students from Shandong Jianzhu University Visit Zichuan

Recently, international students from Shandong Jianzhu University visited Zhenhua Colored Glass in Zichuan, participating in a unique cultural practice and artistic experience activity.

Guided by the docent, the students toured the colored glass production workshop, the lampworking area, and the Colored Glass Art Museum. In the production workshop, they witnessed firsthand the artisans maneuvering iron rods through the scorching thousand-degree furnace flames, shaping molten glass into lifelike artworks through techniques such as blowing, twisting, pulling, and expanding. At the Colored Glass Art Museum, they systematically learned about the thousand-year development of Chinese colored glass, from its origins in the Western Zhou Dynasty, through the glories of the Han and Tang dynasties, to the modern era. As they viewed exquisite colored glass pieces one after another, the students paused frequently, marveling at the profound history carried by this ancient craft.

This activity allowed the international students to appreciate the masterful spirit of "refinement through fire" in Zibo's colored glass art and experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese craftsmanship. As ambassadors of cultural exchange between China and other countries, they will carry these memories of Eastern aesthetics back to their homelands, helping more people understand the profound heritage of China's intangible cultural heritage.
