It is the nature of children to like animals and visit zoos. On the morning of September 25th, Wang Yino's mother from Class 4, Grade 4 came into the classroom and shared some things about animals and zoos with the children. Taking advantage of the just-ended summer vacation, Yino's mother led the children to recall the zoos they had visited and the animals they saw during the holiday, and they spent a wonderful time together.

At the beginning of the course, the students asked questions like "What's your favorite animal?" and "Which zoos have you been to?" Which zoo do you think left the deepest impression on you? He was very interested in the questions and raised his hand actively to speak. Yino's mother showed everyone many pictures of animals, listed some well-known zoos at home and abroad, explained the classification of zoos, and made everyone think about the significance of zoos' existence and what a good zoo should be like.

Next, Yino's mother showed everyone a video to understand what stereotyped behaviors of animals are, and then guided the children to think about why the animals in the zoo exhibit stereotyped behaviors. In fact, animals in nature have no distinction of being "good or bad"; they only differ in "functions". Every species, whether docile deer or fierce wolves, is an indispensable part of the ecological chain. Protecting every species is to safeguard the integrity of this sophisticated system and ultimately to protect the environment on which we depend for survival.

In the last promise, Mom asked everyone to imagine what the zoo in the future would be like? If you were the director of a zoo, how would you manage it? If you were a keeper, how would you treat animals? The children answered the questions enthusiastically, and the atmosphere on the spot was very lively.

This activity sowed the seeds of caring for animals and paying attention to the ecology in the children's hearts. It is hoped that everyone can become a popularizer of animal protection and work together to help zoos develop in a more scientific and friendly direction.
