Singing for Goddesses Joyfully Celebrating Lantern Festival

With splendid lanterns lighting up the Lantern Festival and cheerful songs celebrating women’s spirit, Mashang Street’s Boda Garden Community recently held a cultural event themed“Goddess Songs for the Lantern Festival, China–Foreign Integration Bringing New Splendor”. The event marked the celebration of theBingwu Year of the HorseLantern Festival and the upcomingInternational Women’s Day, while building a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the world and enriching the spiritual and cultural life of community residents.

The activity ingeniously integrated traditional folk customs, women’s elegance, and international elements. The venue was filled with warmth and vitality, showcasing both local charm and a distinctive international style. Community residents and foreign friends gathered together to celebrate reunion, admire grace, and share cross-cultural exchanges.

A Warm Atmosphere of ReunionTraditional activities such asmaking glutinous rice balls,solving lantern riddles, andhandcrafting festive lanternswere in full swing. Residents sat together, kneading dough, preparing fillings, and assembling lanterns with skilled hands and constant laughter.

International students from Shandong University of Technology joined with great enthusiasm. Under the step-by-step guidance of local residents, they experienced folk craftsmanship from tentative attempts to confident creation. By making and tasting hot, fresh glutinous rice balls, they enjoyed an immersive experience of the unique charm of traditional Chinese festivals.

An Open and Inclusive Cultural ExchangeDuring the cultural segment, international students from Shandong University of Technology presented songs, dances, and interactive shows featuring foreign cultures, which complemented Chinese folk performances beautifully. The elegance of ancient Oriental culture blended harmoniously with exotic styles, injecting modern vitality into the traditional Lantern Festival.

Residents of different languages and cultures interacted closely and communicated friendly. Culture served as a bridge, bringing neighbors closer and demonstrating the community’s spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and harmony.

This joint celebration of the two festivals not only inherited fine traditional Chinese culture and highlighted the grace of women but also promoted exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
