Foreign friends visit Boshan Ancient Village for sightseeing

Recently, a group of foreign friends from various countries visited the ancient villages in Boshan District, Zibo City. Immersing themselves in the old alleys with blue brick walls and grey tile roofs, they experienced traditional Chinese farming life and felt the unique charm of Boshan culture. Gathered around a well-preserved ancient well bearing the traces of time, everyone looked at it with curiosity. A Pakistani international student stepped forward voluntarily, held the rough wooden handle and tried to crank the windlass. Guided by the volunteers, the wooden bucket slowly sank into the well and was then hoisted up gradually. "It feels more powerful than I imagined. Every turn is like talking to the past," he sighed to his companions while wiping the sweat off his face.

A friend from Morocco was captivated by the red lanterns and old door knockers in the alleys. Pointing at the patterns of the brick carvings on the walls, he listened carefully as volunteers explained the architectural wisdom of Boshan's residential buildings. "I have never seen a water-drawing tool like this in my country, nor such old houses full of stories," he said to his companions, turning his head. "China's villages hold so much wisdom of life, which is more touching than knowledge from books." With vivid expressions, volunteers introduced cultural symbols such as Boshan Liuli and intangible cultural heritage delicacies to the foreign friends, helping them understand China's rural civilization through hands-on experiences. From the operating principle of the windlass well to the construction techniques of ancient dwellings, every detail has become a bridge for cultural exchange. This event has brought Boshan's traditional culture out of the deep alleys and presented it to the world in a tangible and experiential way. It has not only allowed foreign friends to feel the warmth and vitality of China's countryside, but also built a new bridge for the international communication of Boshan culture.
