Shandong fitness equipment shines at FIBO in Germany

Ningjin, a small county in Dezhou, East China's Shandong province, organized over 100 local enterprises to participate in FIBO Global Fitness 2026 in Germany, the world's leading fitness trade fair, on April 16. Over 30 fitness equipment manufacturers of them showcased their products, occupying nearly 5,000 square meters – the largest Chinese pavilion at the event.

The Ningjin delegation displayed over 200 series and 2,000-plus products, including cardio, strength, wellness and Pilates equipment. The county is China's largest commercial fitness equipment production base, with nearly 4,000 upstream and downstream enterprises. It has developed a full industrial value chain, with 98 percent of core components produced locally.

To date, Ningjin-made fitness equipment reaches over 170 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, and South Korea. In 2025, the industry's total output exceeded 17 billion yuan ($2.48 billion), with export value rising 22.3 percent year-on-year.

"On the first day alone, we received over 200 professional buyers from 40 countries, with 80 percent leaving their contact information. We have now secured over 10 intended orders worth more than 12 million yuan," said Liu Qiang, foreign trade head of Shandong Brightway Fitness Equipment. The company launched three new high-end commercial products for European and American regions, including an intelligent treadmill meeting European Union standards, which quickly became a crowd favorite.
