A Qingdao delegation from East China's Shandong province visited the headquarters of Al Gomhuria, a leading Egyptian newspaper, on April 13 to witness the signing of a friendship and exchange framework agreement between Qingdao Media Group and Al Gomhuria.
The signing coincided with the 70th anniversary of China–Egypt diplomatic ties, marking a new chapter in media cooperation between the two civilizations.

Al Gomhuria welcomed Qingdao Media Group as its first Chinese partner. Under the agreement, both sides will establish regular content-sharing mechanisms and collaborate on news reporting, special features, cultural promotion, resource exchange, and talent development. Joint new media projects will also help bring the peoples of both countries closer together.
During the visit, the Egyptian side explored a cultural showcase featuring Qingdao's intangible cultural heritage, including paper-cutting, calligraphy fans, and inlaid crafts. Screening of promotional videos, along with AI-produced short films, displayed the charm and technological edge of Chinese cities.
Qingdao Media Group now operates a full-fledged all-media system. Its iQingDao international communication platform has reached 2.3 million overseas users, generating over 600 million views. Through this partnership, Qingdao and Shandong aim to share their stories with Egypt and the wider Arab world. Both sides will explore further cooperation in marine economy, culture, and tourism, contributing to mutual understanding and local opening-up.
