Zichuan: Swimming Enthusiast Wang Tao Departs for Sri Lanka for Charitable Swimming Instruction

On April 7, Wang Tao, an experienced swimming enthusiast from Zichuan District, set off for Sri Lanka to begin a two-week charitable swimming teaching program. The initiative aims to teach swimming skills and promote water safety knowledge to children in Colombo and surrounding communities.

During the instruction, Wang Tao starts with basic water adaptation and floating self-rescue techniques. He designs engaging lessons tailored to the characteristics of local children, patiently correcting their movements and encouraging them to try. He also teaches essential safety knowledge, including drowning prevention and self-rescue in dangerous situations, helping to enhance the children's ability to protect themselves. The local children, initially afraid of the water, gradually master new skills, their faces lighting up with confident smiles.

This cross-border charitable teaching initiative not only provides practical skills to Sri Lankan children but also uses sports as a bridge to convey goodwill and friendship from the Chinese people. It demonstrates the sense of responsibility of sports enthusiasts from Zichuan and promotes people-to-people sports and cultural exchanges as well as mutual understanding between China and other countries.
