Summer in Lingang

Summer in Weihai Lingang –Tree shadows hold the streets,

evenings in the park belong to strollers.

Soda bottles sweat cold drops,

watermelons chill in the well.

Cicadas pass songs from tree to tree,

evening breeze scatters the square dance music.

Time here moves just right –slow enough for fruits to sweeten in the orchards,

just enough for you to reach home

as the streetlights come on.
