A piece of red paper, a pair of scissors—under the guidance of an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, teachers from the Beijing Jiaotong University Weihai Campus embarked on a unique journey into traditional culture. Recently, faculty representatives visited Wendeng to immerse themselves in the distinctive charm of paper-cutting.

At the studio, Wang Peilan personally demonstrated paper-cutting techniques and explained in detail the intricacies of this ancient craft. The teachers took the university’s main gate as their creative theme. Three foreign teachers were fully focused—though unfamiliar with the techniques at first, they gradually mastered the essentials through repeated attempts and successfully completed their own works. As scissors danced between fingers and red paper fluttered, the "campus gate" came to life on paper.

This event not only allowed Chinese and international teachers to experience the delicacy of Chinese folk art up close, but also used paper-cutting as a medium to build a vibrant platform for cross-cultural exchange, ensuring that the beauty of intangible cultural heritage is shared and preserved within the campus community.
