从春秋战国时期墨翟制木鸢的传说，到明代风筝工艺的成熟，再到清代放风筝成为民间习俗，潍坊风筝的传奇故事绵延至今两千余载。

它融合了扎、糊、绘、放四艺，承载着齐鲁大地的工匠精神与审美意趣。2006年，潍坊风筝被列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录，这标志着其文化身份得到了国家层面的确认。

1984年，首届潍坊国际风筝会的举办，拉开了潍坊走向世界的序幕。1988年，在第5届潍坊国际风筝会期间，潍坊市被确定为“世界风筝都”。潍坊国际风筝会的举行，大大提高了潍坊的知名度，打开了潍坊对外开放的大门。“风筝牵线、文化搭台、经济唱戏”，小小风筝大大促进了潍坊经济的发展。

如今，当地的风筝文化孕育出整条产业链。2025年潍坊市风筝文化全产业链总规模已达106.71亿元，产品远销全球70多个国家和地区，占据全球市场份额的85%。这一数据表明，作为“世界风筝都”的潍坊，其产业基础与全球影响力持续增强。如今，潍坊风筝已从一项非物质文化遗产技艺，跃升为年产值过百亿、兼具经济动力与文化创新赋能的地方特色产业。

通过“风筝+文旅”的深度融合，这门老技艺与“王者荣耀”等61个知名IP跨界联名，2025年非遗文创产品营收达9.68亿元。

当来自世界各地的参赛队员、各界嘉宾再一次聚首潍坊，当天空再一次飘起五彩斑斓、风格迥异的中外风筝，潍坊与世界的联结也就变得愈加深厚，世界风筝之都的金字招牌也就愈加闪亮。

From the legend of Mozi crafting wooden kites during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, to the maturation of kite craftsmanship in the Ming Dynasty, and then to kite flying becoming a folk custom in the Qing Dynasty, the legendary story of Weifang kites has spanned over two thousand years to the present day.

It integrates four arts: framing, covering, painting, and flying, embodying the craftsmanship spirit and aesthetic appeal of the land of Qilu. In 2006, Weifang kite making was inscribed on the first batch of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list, signifying the official recognition of its cultural identity at the national level.

The first Weifang International Kite Festival in 1984 marked the beginning of Weifang's journey to the world. In 1988, during the 5th Weifang International Kite Festival, Weifang was designated as the "World Kite Capital." The holding of the Weifang International Kite Festival has greatly enhanced Weifang's visibility and opened its doors to the outside world. With kites as the thread connecting hearts, culture as the stage, and economy as the performance, the humble kite has significantly boosted Weifang's economic development.

Today, the local kite culture has spawned an entire industrial chain.By 2025, the total scale of Weifang's kite culture industry chain has reached 10.671 billion yuan, with products exported to over 70 countries and regions worldwide, accounting for 85% of the global market share. This figure indicates that Weifang, renowned as the "World Capital of Kites,"continues to strengthen its industrial foundation and global influence. Today, Weifang kites have evolved from an intangible cultural heritage technique into a local characteristic industry with an annual output value exceeding 10 billion yuan, driving both economic momentum and cultural innovation.

Through the deep integration of "kites + cultural tourism," this traditional craft has engaged in cross-border collaborations with 61 well-known IPs including "Honor of Kings," generating 968 million yuan in revenue from intangible cultural heritage creative products in 2025.

As competing teams from around the world and distinguished guests gather once again in Weifang, and as colorful, diverse Chinese and foreign kites fill the sky once more, the bond between Weifang and the world grows ever stronger, and the golden signboard of the World Kite Capital shines ever brighter.
