Zichuan: Swedish Friends Visit Qiyuantang Longquan Iron Kettle Museum

On June 21, a delegation of Swedish friends visited the Qiyuantang Longquan Iron Kettle Museum in Zichuan for a study and exchange tour.

During the visit, the museum director extended a warm welcome to the Swedish guests and provided a detailed introduction to the historical origins of Longquan iron kettles, the handcrafting process, and the preservation of this intangible cultural heritage.

The Swedish delegation toured the museum's exhibition halls, where they viewed various Longquan iron kettle exhibits up close. They engaged in in-depth discussions with museum staff, gaining a thorough understanding of the pure hand-forging techniques, carving craftsmanship, and cultural symbolism of the kettles. Museum staff also demonstrated the art of boiling water in iron kettles, explaining their health benefits and the cultural significance of Eastern tea ceremonies. The unique intangible cultural heritage skills and traditional wisdom of daily life were highly appreciated by the foreign guests.

Chinese representatives stated that the Qiyuantang Longquan Iron Kettle Museum will continue to deepen the living preservation of intangible cultural heritage, further explore the cultural essence and craft value of iron kettles, regularly organize international cultural exchange activities, and continuously enhance Zibo's reputation as a center for handmade intangible cultural heritage crafts.
