Foreign friends immerse themselves in the warmth of foreign-related services

On July 16, the series of events "Friendly Shandong Tour · Zero-Distance Government Services" – Foreign Friends Experience Day for Government Services was held in Zibo. Foreign representatives visited Qiyue International Community in Zhangdian District, where they observed foreign-related public services, featured livelihood projects, and community cultural facilities on site, experiencing Zhangdian’s refined foreign-related government services and the city’s open, inclusive atmosphere at close range. Fifteen foreign experts from universities, foreign employees of local enterprises, and international student representatives from eight countries were invited to participate.

At the Qiyue International Community venue, foreign guests observed the tangible achievements of the community’s international development and learned in detail about the comprehensive service system specially built for foreign residents. Community staff provided detailed on-site explanations of high-frequency convenient services such as consultation and processing of residence permit applications and coordination of foreign-related volunteer services, clearly outlining daily procedures for foreign residents and resolving common consultation difficulties through easy-to-understand introductions. The group then visited distinctive service facilities including the community childcare center and the Xiaoyu Recording Studio, experiencing supporting resources that cater to residents of all age groups and gaining a genuine understanding of the comprehensive and diverse livelihood services provided at the grassroots community level.

During the visit, foreign representatives experienced the thoughtful and meticulous details of the community’s foreign-related services, directly perceived Zibo’s acceptance and care for foreign residents, and immersed themselves in the city’s open and inclusive living atmosphere. The on-site visit allowed foreign friends to move beyond individual service windows and gain a comprehensive understanding of grassroots governance and the implementation of foreign-related services in Zibo from the perspective of community life. It also offered them a full picture of local community life, effectively building a tangible bridge for communication between Chinese and foreign residents and narrowing the psychological distance between people of different nationalities.

Following the on-site observation session, participating foreign representatives engaged actively in discussions based on their real experiences in work, study, and daily life. They shared personal insights and put forward practical suggestions on improving the quality of foreign-related government services and conducting regular international cultural exchanges, and spoke highly of the effectiveness of the event.
