Zibo MacDuffie School Joins Hands with Korea University to Explore International Education

Recently, an in-depth China-South Korea educational and cultural exchange activity themed "Deepening Educational Cooperation, Jointly Promoting Youth Development" was successfully held in Zhangdian District, Zibo City. On July 4, an exchange delegation from Sejong Campus of Korea University visited Zibo MacDuffie Bilingual Senior High School. Representatives of the two schools gathered on campus to hold friendly discussions on international talent cultivation, co-construction of curriculum systems, study tours and mutual visits between teachers and students, discussing cooperation visions and jointly drawing development blueprints.

At the symposium, Gao Caixia, Chief Principal of Zibo MacDuffie Education Community, extended a warm welcome to the Korea University delegation on behalf of all teachers and students. She noted that as a century-old top comprehensive university in South Korea, Korea University boasts profound academic heritage and extensive international influence, which is highly consistent with MacDuffie’s educational philosophy of "With a Chinese Heart, Be a Global Citizen". Since the initial contact, the two schools have conducted multiple on-site inspections and in-depth consultations, reached broad consensus on school-running concepts and talent training goals, and finally successfully concluded a deep cooperation intention. This exchange is not only a complementary advantage of educational resources between the two schools, but also an important opportunity for Chinese and South Korean youth to enhance mutual understanding and deepen friendship.

The head of the Korea University delegation stated that Zibo, as the ancient capital of the Qi State, enjoys profound cultural heritage and a strong educational atmosphere. MacDuffie Bilingual Senior High School’s exploration and achievements in the internationalization of basic education have left a deep impression. It is expected that the two sides will carry out practical cooperation in the fields of curriculum co-construction, teacher exchange, and student mutual visits in the future, and jointly build a broader development platform for young people of the two countries.

During the event, the South Korean delegation also visited the campus of MacDuffie Bilingual Senior High School to learn about the school’s educational conditions, curriculum setup and cultural construction on site. The two sides held in-depth discussions on differences between Chinese and South Korean basic education, bilingual teaching practices, integration of international curricula and other topics, with a warm and harmonious atmosphere.

Taking educational connectivity between the two regions as a link and youth cultural exchange as the original aspiration, this exchange activity aims to promote the in-depth integration of local basic education with the high-quality teaching systems of prestigious overseas universities, and facilitate the two-way flow of high-quality curriculum resources and teaching staff. The successful implementation of this cooperation not only broadens the international vision and opens up pathways for further studies for MacDuffie students, but also injects new impetus into the international development of education in Zhangdian District, laying a solid foundation for cultivating young students in the new era with both national roots and global vision.
