Konkuk University Delegation Visits Shandong University of Technology

On the afternoon of September 14, a delegation led by Lee Dong-man, Director of the International Education Center of Konkuk University, and Kim Mi-jin, Undergraduate Admissions Officer of the International Cooperation Center, visited Shandong University of Technology. They held face-to-face exchanges with students enrolled in the university’s 1+3 International Undergraduate Program, launching an educational dialogue between China and the Republic of Korea and writing a new chapter in educational cooperation between the two universities.

The event unfolded in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Visiting representatives sat together with pre-university students. Lee Dong-man extended his greetings and encouraged the students to cherish their study opportunities, master Korean language and basic major courses solidly to lay a firm foundation for their further studies in the Republic of Korea. Meanwhile, he issued a sincere invitation, expecting them to pursue undergraduate studies at Konkuk University one year later, and presented university souvenirs to the students present.

During the interactive session, students took turns introducing themselves in Korean, sharing their reasons for choosing Konkuk University and talking about their expectations and plans for overseas study. The Korean representatives listened carefully and answered students’ questions concerning campus life and major selection in detail. Language served as a bond of communication. The exchanges bridged the gap between Chinese and Korean teachers and students, helping students gain a clearer understanding of their upcoming overseas studies.

Hosted under the 1+3 International Undergraduate Program jointly run by the two universities, this activity stands as a vivid practice of deepening talent cultivation cooperation between Chinese and ROK universities. Shandong University of Technology has maintained long-term friendly cooperation with Konkuk University. The university offers a pre-university program for study in South Korea. Adopting small-class tiered teaching, it provides full-chain services including language training and admission planning to help students gain admission to top universities in the Republic of Korea.

This visit further consolidates the foundation of bilateral cooperation and expands channels for exchanges between Chinese and ROK youth. Going forward, Shandong University of Technology will continue to introduce high-quality international educational resources and build diverse platforms for exchange and practice. It supports young students in broadening their global vision, pursuing overseas dreams, and growing into new-era talents equipped with cross-cultural communication capabilities.
