Spanish Friend Visits Pu Songling Memorial Hall in Zichuan

On October 1, Spanish friend Javier visited the Pu Songling Memorial Hall in Zichuan District to get an up-close experience of Liaozhai culture and appreciate Zibo’s profound historical and cultural heritage.

Under the careful introduction of a guide, Javier visited areas including Pu Songling’s former residence, the history and literature exhibition hall, and the cultural relic displays, gaining a detailed understanding of Pu Songling’s life trajectory, his creative background, and the literary value of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio* (*Liaozhai Zhiyi*). Facing exhibits such as ancient book editions and surviving calligraphy and painting works in the collection, Javier paused from time to time to look closely and listened attentively to explanations of classic Liaozhai stories. He developed a strong interest in the fantastical core of the stories and their ideological message of punishing evil and promoting good, frequently taking photos and exchanging impressions of the visit.

Literature is a bridge of communication that transcends national borders. This visit built a friendly platform for people-to-people cultural exchange between China and Spain, allowing Javier to truly feel the unique appeal of traditional Chinese literature.
