Zhangdian：German University Delegation Visits Shandong University of Technology for Exchange

On September 11, Professor Martin Adam, President of the Berlin University of Media, Design and Computer Application Technology in Germany, led a four-member delegation to visit Shandong University of Technology. Li Yuxia, President of the university, and Pang Qiuxiang, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the forum. Heads of relevant departments including the Academic Affairs Office, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the School of Literature and Journalism, the School of Art and Design, and the China-Italy Future Intelligent Engineering Institute also participated. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on China-Germany educational cooperation amid the golden autumn scenery on campus.

At the forum, Li Yuxia extended a warm welcome to the German delegation. She gave the guests a comprehensive introduction to the university’s development history, overall disciplinary layout, and achievements in internationalized schooling. She noted that Shandong University of Technology has always adhered to the philosophy of open education and attaches great importance to exchanges with the Berlin University of Media, Design and Computer Application Technology. She expressed the hope that both universities can further tap cooperation potential and expand collaboration channels in joint talent training, academic exchanges, and joint scientific research. Priority will be given to advancing practical cooperation in digitalization and intelligence to jointly boost exchanges and development of higher education between China and Germany.

Martin Adam thanked the university for the reception and introduced his institution’s school-running characteristics and outstanding strengths in talent cultivation. He held that the joint school-running cooperation between the two universities carries great practical significance and serves as important practice for building a long-term, stable, trustworthy and friendly inter-university partnership. He looks forward to maintaining regular communication between both sides, steadily advancing all cooperative matters, and injecting fresh vitality into higher education exchanges between China and Germany.

After the forum, the delegation embarked on an on-site tour. The group visited the Qichuang Building and the Yin Gan Art Museum to gain first-hand insights into the university’s scientific and technological innovation achievements and its strengths in art and design education. The delegation also toured the School of Literature and Journalism and the School of Art and Design to inspect campus teaching facilities, learn about the implementation of talent training programs and the progress of scientific research and innovation work, gathering on-site references for deepening bilateral cooperation in the future.
