Zhangdian：Forge Ahead for a New Chapter of China-Foreign Friendly Exchanges

To broaden exchange channels between sister cities, consolidate the foundation of China-foreign friendship, foster young talent for friendship-building, and effectively implement the Sister-City International Student Scholarship Program, the Foreign Affairs Office of Zibo, together with the School of International Education of Shandong University of Technology, co-hosted an exchange forum for sister-city international students on September 22. Relevant officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Zibo and the School of International Education gathered with four sister-city international students to share friendship and discuss exchanges.

During the forum, staff gave the students a detailed introduction to Zibo, helping overseas learners gain deeper understanding of this culturally rich and dynamic city. The students were encouraged to cherish their precious study-abroad experience, devote themselves to academic research, fully experience Zibo’s local customs and urban charm, strive to become bridges of friendship linking Zibo with their respective sister cities, and act as young envoys for China-foreign friendly exchanges.

The participating students were greatly inspired and shared their thoughts openly. They stated that they highly value the opportunity to study in Zibo. Going forward, they will continuously improve their Chinese proficiency, fully embrace study and daily life, take the initiative to serve as exchange envoys, and contribute youthful strength to exchanges and cooperation between their hometowns and Zibo, so that the blossoms of friendship may flourish across mountains and seas.

It is learned that four students have been awarded the Zibo Sister-City International Student Scholarship for this academic year. They come from Veliky Novgorod of Russia and the Upper Matsiatra Region of Madagascar, and all study at Shandong University of Technology. Centered on educational exchanges and young students as carriers, the Sister-City International Student Scholarship Program builds a cross-border platform for mutual understanding. It continuously injects youthful vitality into Zibo’s international friendly exchanges and writes new chapters of mutual affinity between Zibo and its international sister cities.
