World’s first mountain embodied intelligence robot competition debuts on Mount Tai

On November 2, members of the media tour themed "Scaling New Heights for Broader Views in Dynamic Tai'an" visited the inaugural CMG World Robot Mount Tai Climbing Competition. Journalists for international communication from multiple regions gathered at the Red Gate Visitor Center of Mount Tai to experience the event and witness the integration of Mount Tai’s time-honored civilization and embodied intelligence technology.

This is the world’s first real-scene robot competition held on a mountain that is both a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site. The 3.9-kilometer race route runs from the Red Gate to Mid-Heaven Gate, with over 3,100 natural stone steps. The tough and changeable mountain terrain provides valuable real-world test conditions to upgrade robot algorithms. At the opening ceremony, five events kicked off one after another. Nearly 90 tech teams competed along the ancient stone paths of Mount Tai, showing the interplay between traditional culture and cutting-edge technology.

The media team followed and documented the whole competition, capturing how robots adapt to terrain and adjust their gaits, and collecting on-site feedback from research teams. After the competition, reporters climbed to the summit, visited cultural landmarks such as Bixia Temple and the "Five Mountains Respect" stone carving, and tested exoskeleton robots in mountain terrain.
