Two Decades of the Sky Road: First Attendants of Qinghai-Tibet Railway Recall 20 Years of Progress

On the 20th anniversary of the full operation of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, we look back at two decades of the Sky Road through the eyes of its inaugural train attendants. Twenty years ago, when the railway was just opened to traffic, herdsmen boarded the carriages dressed in their ethnic costumes. Over the past two decades, they have sold Tibetan medicinal herbs, yogurt, beef and mutton across the globe. The scenery outside the train windows has also transformed: solar photovoltaic panels have multiplied, and herds of Tibetan antelopes roam the land.(Source: The Paper)
