温故知新丨福临布老虎承载着健康、吉祥的美好寓意

9月19日至20日，“2026温故知新济宁行——圣地尼山 邀NI共享”文化体验活动在曲阜举办。外国留学生、外籍自媒体博主近距离接触济宁传统布老虎非遗项目，通过聆听民俗讲解、了解民间传说，真切认识这一本土老手艺的由来与寓意。

活动现场，非遗代表性传承人结合地方民俗，为外国友人细致介绍布老虎的本土渊源。不同于普通的手工摆件，济宁布老虎是当地流传已久的民俗物件，承载着健康、平安、吉祥的美好寓意，彰显着儒家文化所倡导的社会和谐与个人幸福。

通俗易懂的现场讲解，让外国友人收获满满。外籍博主Gudkova Aleksandra认真聆听完传承人的介绍后，对济宁布老虎有了全新的认识，也第一次了解到布老虎背后的古老故事。

“今天我了解了布老虎的历史特别悠久，可以追溯到两千五百多年以前，这里还有一个美丽的传说，叫‘凤生虎养鹰打扇’，和孔子出生有关。老百姓缝制布老虎，希望以此祈求平安，收获健康与吉祥。”Gudkova Aleksandra 坦言，从前只见过各式传统手工艺品，却不知道济宁的布老虎有着这么久的历史和独特的本土传说，让人印象深刻。

现场的手工体验，也让外国友人切实体会到老手艺的来之不易。大家亲手动手缝制，在实操过程中感受传统手工的细节与技巧。

此次非遗体验，让外国友人跳出简单的手工体验，真切了解到济宁本土民俗的由来和用处。通过近距离接触、面对面聆听、亲手实操制作，外国友人更加直观地认识了济宁特色非遗。

From September 19 to 20, the 2026 "Rediscovering Jining – Sacred Nishan, Inviting You to Share" cultural experience event was held in Qufu. International students and foreign social media influencers got up close with Jining’s intangible cultural heritage of traditional cloth tigers. By listening to folk explanations and learning folk legends, they gained a genuine understanding of the origin and symbolism of this time-honored local craft.

At the event, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage gave foreign guests a detailed introduction to the local origins of cloth tigers, combined with regional folk customs. Unlike ordinary handmade ornaments, Jining cloth tigers are folk artifacts with a long local history. They carry fine wishes for health, peace and good fortune, embodying social harmony and personal well-being advocated by Confucian culture.

The accessible on-site presentation brought rich insights to foreign participants. After listening carefully to the inheritor’s talk, foreign influencer Gudkova Aleksandra developed a fresh perspective on Jining cloth tigers and learned the ancient legend behind the craft for the first time.

“I’ve learned today that the history of cloth tigers stretches back more than 2,500 years. There is a beautiful legend called ‘Phoenix gave birth, tiger nursed, eagle fanned’, which is related to the birth of Confucius. Local people sew cloth tigers to pray for peace, health and good luck,” said Gudkova Aleksandra. She admitted that she had seen various traditional handicrafts before, but never knew Jining’s cloth tigers boasted such a long history and unique local legend, which left a deep impression on her.

The hands-on craft session also helped foreign guests truly appreciate how demanding this traditional craft can be. Participants sewed the cloth tigers by themselves, feeling the details and techniques of traditional handcrafting in practice.

This intangible cultural heritage experience went beyond a simple handicraft activity, enabling foreign guests to truly grasp the origins and functions of Jining’s local folk customs. Through close observation, face-to-face lectures and hands-on creation, foreign visitors gained a more intuitive understanding of Jining’s distinctive intangible cultural heritage.
