Autumn Scenery along the Yellow River Levee

In the golden month of October, the sky is clear and the air crisp. As the first county the Yellow River enters in Shandong Province, Dongming embraces its most pleasant season of the year. Along the Yellow River levee several kilometers north of Shawo Town in Dongming County, the winding levee stretches alongside the surging great river. Gilded forest belts and picturesque floodplains spread out to paint an ecological scroll of the Yellow River featuring “stable levees, green riverbanks, beautiful landscapes and smooth water flow”, fully demonstrating the imposing momentum and gentle charm of the Mother River. Strolling along the levee-top highway, the smooth and unobstructed road extends into the distance. The roadside trees on both sides have shed their deep summer green, tinged with varied hues of pale yellow, orange-red and dark brown. Ash trees, Chinese scholar trees and trident maples stand in staggered layers, shimmering brightly in the autumn sunshine.

As an important flood control project and ecological corridor in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, the Dongming Yellow River Levee acts as a solid barrier guarding local safety and a nice destination for residents and tourists to enjoy the scenery. Today, it has grown into a "Great Green Wall" integrating flood safety guarantee, ecological conservation and cultural tourism. Radiating unique charm in golden autumn, it writes a vivid chapter of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
