Jiaozhou is the "spiciest" city in Shandong.Every year, the volume of chili peppers traded in Jiaozhou reaches 1.2 million metric tons, with exports accounting for more than 80% of China's total chili pepper exports.However, Jiaozhou does not grow chili peppers locally. It mainly focuses on seed breeding, selling seeds across China and around the world, and then buying back chili peppers for processing and making into products, with an average annual transaction value of about 16 billion yuan.
