Experiencing the Charm of Light and Shadow in a Square Inch

Shadow puppetry, also known as "Yingzi Xi" (shadow play) or "Dengying Xi" (lantern shadow play), is a traditional form of folk opera and an important component of Chinese traditional culture. Tian Fucan, an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage in Huantai County, has diligently studied the performance techniques of shadow puppetry and has mastered the acting skills for six plays, including "Zhu Bajie Carries His Bride." In 2024, she applied to become a county-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Huantai County, hoping that through her performances, more people will recognize and grow to love this traditional culture.
