Wasteland transformed into fertile farmland

日前，菏泽鲁西新区万福街道雷泽湖社区的水稻迎来了丰收，一片片的稻田，稻穗饱满低垂。而在几年前，这里还是常年受涝减产的涝地。雷泽湖社区紧挨着雷泽湖水库，地势低水排不出去，种玉米十年有八年涝。这件事是多年压在群众心头的难事。后来村民就说，要不要种水稻试一试，2023年雷泽湖社区就开始了第一次尝试，水稻试种工作初见成效，2023年秋收实现了亩产水稻1300斤，让群众看到了荒地变良田。今年雷泽湖社区的水稻长势喜人，亩产稳定在一千四五百斤，曾经的低洼涝地，如今已经变成了群众增收致富的聚宝田。

Recently, the rice in Leizehu Community, Wanfu Subdistrict, Luxi New Area, Heze, came to harvest. In the fields, plump rice ears hung low. A few years ago, however, this area was still waterlogged land that suffered from flooding and reduced yields year after year. Leizehu Community lies right next to Leizehu Reservoir. The land is low-lying and poorly drained, and for ten years, eight of them were flooded when corn was planted. This had long been a difficult problem weighing on the hearts of local residents. Later, villagers asked whether they should try growing rice. In 2023, Leizehu Community made its first attempt, and the trial planting of rice showed promising results. In the autumn harvest of 2023, rice yields reached 1,300 jin per mu, giving residents hope that wasteland could be turned into fertile farmland. This year, the rice in Leizehu Community is growing well, with yields stabilizing at 1,400 to 1,500 jin per mu. The once low-lying, waterlogged land has now become a treasure field that helps residents increase their income and achieve prosperity.
